Мы много раз писали о том, что заниматься английским нужно постоянно. Мы подписаны на множество различных ресурсов и лента в фейсбуке больше, чем на половину состоит из английских постов. Сегодня "Английский язык - уроки для всех" порадовал идиомами:

WEATHER IDIOMS
it never rains but it pours - беда не приходит одна
e.g.- I can't believe this. This morning I had a flat tire. When I went to the garage to get the tire patched, I discovered I didn't have any money, and I couldn't even charge it because my credit card's expired.
- It never rains but it pours.

a storm in a teacup - буря в стакане воды
e.g.I think it's all a storm in a teacup - there's probably no danger to public health at all.


for a rainy day - на черный день
e.g. I've saved a little money for a rainy day.


every cloud has a silver lining - нет худа без добра
e.g. I'm sorry your business is going badly, but don't despair. Every cloud has a silver lining.


a bolt from the blue - гром средь ясного неба
e.g.The news that Mr. and Mrs. King were getting a divorce struck all their friends as a bolt from the blue.


to feel under the weather - плохо себя чувствовать
e.g. I'm feeling a little under the weather - I think I may have caught a cold.


to weather the storm - пережить трудные времена
e.g. Bob lost his job, but somehow his family weathered the storm.
